Prolonged Grief Disorder was recently added to the DSM5-TR to address more extensive states of grief that patients experience. Inclusion of this condition has provided a standardized set of criteria to distinguish between normal and persistent grief. We elucidate how thorough assessment can address risk factors that point to the diagnosis and direct us to appropriate management in order to prevent serious adverse events. In this poster, we also discuss how COVID-19 has exacerbated several risk factors of prolonged grief.
