Community-oriented primary care allows clinicians to take health concerns seen in practice and apply it to a defined community with the hope of solving a greater public health need. For Wake County’s refugee population, the lack of screening for Heliobacter pylori, a known endemic infection, can lead to deleterious disease sequelae for an already vulnerable population. This proposal aims to describe a quality improvement project that increases H.pylori testing using low-cost screening. Evaluation will be performed by collecting and analyzing patient data and tracking outcomes. Community members will act as medical coordinators to ensure medication adherence and test for cure.
